Exploring the Rich Art and Culture of Ouachita Parish, Louisiana

The Masur Art Museum is the largest visual arts museum in northeastern Louisiana, and it offers a variety of educational programs for both children and adults. Admission to the museum is always free, and visitors can also explore the unique information about artists from different artistic periods on Artble. The Arts Council works directly with local artists and provides grant opportunities to artists and arts organizations, striving to be a transformative force for the community by encouraging a passion for the arts, promoting partnerships and collaboration, and ensuring access to the arts for all. To this end, they have conducted an extensive review of the current state of art education, including an update of the current research base on art education outcomes and an analysis of the challenges and opportunities in this field that have arisen over the past decade. ULM Visual and Performing Arts offers cultural activities, special events, and performances for university and local communities. Research conducted by the Arts Council has revealed that children in rural northeastern Louisiana are underserved when it comes to access to arts education. Four separate longitudinal studies tracked children, adolescents, and young adults who had high or low levels of artistic participation in or out of school.

The Twin City Ballet Company is incorporated by the State of Louisiana as a non-profit organization to enrich the cultural environment of Northeastern Louisiana and surrounding areas.
